. A beach wedding

What could be more beautiful and romantic than a wedding on the beautiful sands of some of the most gorgeous beaches in San Diego, South Beach or Maui?  Beach wedding venue settings are increasing, and personally, I can understand why!  The sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks, the blue skies, and the ocean smells are an excellent way to begin a life together with your loved one.  There are several things to consider, however, if you will be attending a wedding on the seashore.

First and foremost, look for clothing that will be comfortable and resist wrinkles.  You will be wearing these clothes outside all day long and you want to look as good after five hours as you did when you first arrived.  A gauze material might be the perfect choice as it is light, airy, permanently wrinkled, and ideal for a beach wedding.  Next thing to remember is that wearing high heels are a “no no” for a beach venue.  The spiky heels tend to get stuck in the sand and, unfortunately, you might upstage the bride if you topple over as you are making your way to your seat!!  Something  you might overlook on this special occasion, is sunscreen!  Remember, you may be in the direct sun for a number of hours and the memory you want to take away from this occasion should be how beautiful and special the day was, not about the severe sunburn you received!  You might also want to consider wearing a brimmed hat to keep the sun off your face, and at the same time this accessory may set you apart from the other guests.  These beach wedding ideas, as well as other useful and beneficial suggestions can be found at  www.bridetobewaystosave.com

#876The first set, #876 includes a light and airy asymmetric layer dress ($60) by Mango.  The lines on this dress will compliment most figure types and its A-line style flows away from the body, which helps hide body flaws that you may want to hide.  Keeping in mind to limit the heel size, I have included two different choices.  The first is a flat pearly flip flop by accessorize.com ($37) that includes just enough bling that would look amazing with this dress.  The second choice is a silver small heeled, jeweled sandal by zappos.com for $59. Givenchy drop earrings at nordstrom.com ($48), a sterling silver diamond cuff bracelet by overstock.com for $129, and sunglasses by suitsupply.com for $89 complete the look.

Another beach setting option is set #877 which includes a beige lace lined top by wearall.com for $25.  This loose fitting top will be a#2,#877 comfortable item to wear to the wedding but will also be extremely versatile for future pairings with jeans, slacks or skirts.  The coral split side maxi skirt by newlook.com for $28 is a perfect casual, but appropriate, clothing choice for outdoor wearing. Xandie metallic wedges by guess.com for $47 are a perfect shoe choice as it adds a touch of bling and gives enough foot stability while walking in sand.  To tie the coral and beige colors together, add an Aztec diamond straw clutch by catofashions.com for only $16..sweet!!   A Shyla lace cut out bangle by oliverbonas.com ($22), coral scroll ring by accessoriesinstyle.com ($16), hibiscus chandelier earrings by Stella & Dot ($44) and classic celebrity sunglasses by oasap.com for $13 finish the look.

#3, #878My last beach wedding attire choice is set #878.  A beautiful jade color, v-neck lined lace top from wearall.com for $25 is the perfect starter piece for this outfit.  When I create I always start with one piece that I want to be the focal point that I build the rest of the outfit around.  Next I add a loose fitting maxi skirt that can be used for dressy or casual wear.  T-strap flat sandals by ALDO ($30) are a perfect color match with the top and are a great addition to the outfit. The accessory item that brings all the colors together is the beautiful and unique Marina Fossati bracelet from yoox.com for $143; a great jewelry purchase that can be used to compliment endless outfits.  A brown Michael Kors cross body bag (shopbop.com, $158), Panacea gold geometric drop earrings from lastcall.com for $14, and Burberry sunglasses at sunglasshut.com, $154, add just the right finishing touches for a great look!

Keep in mind while you are shopping for this event that usually a beach setting is less formal than a traditional church wedding.  Keep it simple; remember sometimes less is more and if you are unable to find the perfect sandal or shoe choice for this special day, not a problem…go barefoot!!

Until next time,

Judy
